This project look into principles with transformable stiffness, developed a concept of soft and lightweight Exosuit using pneumatic power system, provides small levels of support during standing over a long period of time, with the goal of reducing fatigue and the risk of injury.

The challenge

To meet the requirement of building lightweight exosuit, the research and experiment part of the project look into principles with tunable stiffness, explore the way of switching between rigid and soft.The goal wasn’t to create a system to give someone superstrength, but rather to provide small levels of assistance during standing over a long period of time, with the goal of reducing fatigue and the risk of injury.
